Vice President of Deployment
I am seeking a Vice President of Deployment (Solar/BESS Construction) to drive the strategic vision for solar and storage projects, including both Distributed Generation (DG) and Utility Scale (US) systems. This role requires strong technical knowledge, innovative problem-solving skills, and collaboration across departments and with key external stakeholders, including contractors and regulatory agencies. The VP will lead regional teams, managing the execution of construction projects nationwide, ensuring the achievement of milestones such as Permission to Operate (PTO), Substantial Completion (SC), revenue targets, and margin goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic goals for the construction team, aligning with company-wide objectives to achieve operational milestones, including PTO, SC, revenue, and margin goals.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Operations, Engineering, Legal, Supply Chain) to ensure smooth transitions from pre-deployment to deployment, including project pricing and approvals.
- Build and lead a high-performing team focused on innovation, efficiency, and delivering best-in-class results in solar and storage construction.
- Manage the full spectrum of construction risks, including contract negotiations, compliance, budget management, and reconciliation.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with contractors, government agencies, and other key stakeholders.
- Set a safety-first example by working with safety teams to ensure a safe work environment on all projects and offices.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on project progress, including financial and operational status.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in solar and/or storage operations, ideally with experience in PV and/or storage projects at the DG and utility scale.
- 5+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams and executing strategic plans.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Engineering, Operations, etc.), with a Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in quality or process excellence methodologies is a plus.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
