Vice President (VP) of Asset Management

Job Summary:
The Vice President (VP) of Asset Management will be responsible for overseeing the operational performance, optimization, and long-term strategy of the company's renewable energy assets, including solar, storage, and other energy infrastructure projects. The VP will lead the Asset Management team in managing a growing portfolio of renewable energy assets, ensuring financial and operational efficiency, and maximizing value for stakeholders. This senior leadership role will require a combination of strategic thinking, operational expertise, and financial acumen.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy:
- Lead and manage the Asset Management team to optimize the financial and operational performance of the renewable energy portfolio.
- Develop and implement long-term asset management strategies to drive value creation and ensure the portfolio meets financial, operational, and sustainability goals.
- Partner with senior leadership to align asset management strategies with the company's overall vision, financial targets, and growth objectives.
Asset Performance and Optimization:
- Oversee and improve the operational performance of renewable energy projects, ensuring maximum availability, efficiency, and reliability.
- Manage the performance of assets in accordance with operational agreements and service contracts, including monitoring and troubleshooting issues related to equipment, energy production, and efficiency.
- Analyze and evaluate asset performance data and implement corrective actions where necessary to ensure optimal operations.
Financial Oversight:
- Develop and manage asset-level budgets, performance reports, and forecasts to ensure financial performance meets or exceeds expectations.
- Collaborate with the finance team to assess asset valuations, return on investment (ROI), and portfolio performance.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and other financial metrics to guide operational and financial decision-making.
Risk Management and Compliance:
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with renewable energy assets, including regulatory, technical, financial, and operational risks.
- Ensure all assets comply with applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental, safety, and permitting requirements.
- Lead efforts related to asset risk management and implement plans to address challenges related to asset longevity, performance, and regulatory changes.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Foster relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, regulatory bodies, contractors, service providers, and other partners.
- Support capital raising activities and the negotiation of asset financing, as required.
- Lead and contribute to investor presentations and reports to communicate asset performance and future projections.
Team Development:
- Hire, develop, and mentor the Asset Management team to build a high-performing and results-oriented group.
- Establish clear objectives for team members and ensure alignment with company-wide goals.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and excellence in asset management.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in asset management, operations, or a related field within the renewable energy sector, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience managing a portfolio of renewable energy assets, preferably in solar or energy storage.
- Strong financial background with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis related to energy assets.

- In-depth knowledge of renewable energy technologies, including solar PV, storage systems, and grid integration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
