Join a leading civil engineering firm seeking a skilled Roadway Engineer to support municipal, county, and state projects involving streets, highways, and freeways. This role requires a strong technical background in roadway design, with opportunities to manage smaller, task-order projects based on qualifications and interest. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, technically proficient, and possesses strong communication skills. You will be responsible for design calculations, cost estimates, project plans, and client deliverables while ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design roadway, highway, and freeway projects from concept to completion.
- Develop project plans, specifications, cost estimates, and design calculations.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal roadway design standards.
- Utilize Bentley and/or AutoDesk software, including MicroStation, OpenRoads, and Civil 3D.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to meet deadlines.
- Conduct field assessments and inspections as needed.
- Assist with business development, proposals, and marketing efforts.
Minimum Requirements:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of roadway design experience
- Proficiency in ProjectWise, MicroStation, OpenRoads, and Civil 3D.
- Experience preparing design calculations, cost estimates, and project plans.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel for fieldwork as needed.
