Job Title: Substation Superintendent
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and oversee all aspects of substation construction projects, including planning, coordination, and problem resolution, while ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards.
- Monitor project progress to ensure adherence to safety, budget, and quality requirements.
- Manage all project documentation, such as submittals, RFIs, action item follow-ups, material expediting, and project meeting minutes.
- Provide management with regular updates on project status, including scheduling and overall performance.
- Coordinate with the fleet department to optimize fleet resources and minimize downtime.
- Assist the project team in processing necessary documentation for project approvals, purchase orders, work orders, and other items needed for project completion.
- Collaborate with the project team to troubleshoot and resolve issues, providing management with timely solutions.
- Represent the company in meetings with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Work closely with and provide technical support to field personnel assigned to the project.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and complete required safety training on schedule.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned, based on the needs of the project and business unit.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the electrical infrastructure construction industry, with a focus on substations.
- Extensive hands-on experience in the electrical utilities industry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and scheduling software.
- Strong organizational and scheduling capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple project timelines simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, thriving in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong work ethic, professionalism, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently, produce high-quality work, and meet strict deadlines.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
