Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting detailed forensic investigations- You will be involved in Local Law 126 and Local Law 11 projects across NYC, meticulously examining structures to identify underlying issues. This involves using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to assess the condition of buildings and infrastructure.
- Developing restoration solutions- Your focus will be on creating solutions that prioritize both safety and compliance with local regulations
- You will design and implement restoration plans that address the root causes of structural issues, ensuring long-term stability and safety.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams- You will work closely with architects, engineers, and other professionals on large-scale projects, ensuring a cohesive approach to restoration.
- Effective communication and teamwork are essential as you coordinate efforts to achieve project goals.
- Applying scientific methods- Use advanced engineering principles to diagnose failures or defects within infrastructure, ensuring accurate and effective solutions. This includes conducting structural analyses, simulations, and modeling to predict the behavior of materials and structures under various conditions.
- Ensuring technical excellence- From conception through completion, you will apply your expertise to meet the diverse demands of various projects, maintaining high standards of technical excellence. You will oversee the implementation of restoration projects, ensuring that all work is performed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Maintaining structural integrity- You will be responsible for ensuring the structural integrity of buildings, diagnosing and correcting any issues that arise to prevent future problems. This involves regular inspections, monitoring, and maintenance to ensure that structures remain safe and functional over time.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience with Local Law 126/11 projects across New York or relevant structural restoration/forensic engineering projects. Experience with a variety of building types and materials is highly desirable.
- PE License is preferred but not mandatory. Certification in relevant areas of structural engineering and restoration is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture is required. Advanced degrees or specialized training in structural restoration, forensic engineering, or related fields are advantageous.
