Position: Structural Engineer

Job Overview: We are looking for a skilled and experienced Structural Engineer to join our team in Miami Dade County. This role is ideal for proactive individuals eager to work on diverse projects. Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate plans and specifications for commercial, industrial, and residential projects to ensure they meet city, state, and federal regulations.
- Offer technical guidance and support to inspection staff regarding field issues.
- Address and resolve complaints from clients, applicants, the public, designers, and contractors.
- Maintain regular interactions with municipal clients and their teams.
- Conduct inspections as necessary, providing code interpretations in the field.
- Participate in meetings, educational seminars, and events related to building codes.
Required Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of local building codes and modern construction practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills for positive interactions with staff, the public, contractors, and government agencies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Effective time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to take initiative and make independent decisions.
- Competence in preparing written plan review correspondence and updating information in company software.
- Capability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with various editions of the International Building Codes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer skills.
Qualifications:
- Florida PE License in Structural Engineering required.
- 3-5 years of combined experience in building department field inspections and plan examination.
- Meets Miami Dade County's Board of Rules and Appeals Certification Requirements.
