Position Overview:
As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of heavy civil construction projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. You will lead project teams, manage client relationships, and be the primary point of contact for all aspects of project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the execution of large-scale heavy civil construction projects, including transportation, utilities, and environmental infrastructure.
- Lead project teams, including superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders, to ensure successful project delivery.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring clear communication and resolution of any project issues or concerns.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, local regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Prepare and review project proposals, contracts, and change orders.
- Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to meet project goals and deadlines.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior project managers and other staff.
- Manage risk assessments and implement corrective actions to address any challenges that arise during project execution.
- Prepare and submit regular project status reports to senior leadership and clients.
Experience & Qualifications Needed:
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a focus on large infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, bridges, utilities).
- Proven experience in project management, including experience overseeing all aspects of project delivery from planning through completion.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and industry standards.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
- Experience with contract negotiations, change orders, and managing subcontractors.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations impacting heavy civil construction projects in Oregon.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project, etc.).
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (PMP or similar certification preferred).
