Our client are seeking a Senior Drainage Engineer / Project Manager to lead water resources projects across Central Texas. This role offers the opportunity to oversee stormwater and watershed management projects, stream restoration, and roadway drainage design while mentoring a team of engineers and technical staff. The ideal candidate will have experience working with municipalities such as the City of Austin and surrounding agencies, with strong expertise in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, flood mitigation, and water quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor engineers to ensure successful project execution.
- Manage project design, cost estimates, schedules, and permitting.
- Oversee storm drain improvement systems, culverts, channel modifications, and stormwater treatment facilities.
- Utilize 1D/2D hydraulic models for flood mitigation and urban streambank assessments.
- Coordinate with clients, sub-consultants, and internal teams to meet project objectives.
- Support business development efforts, including proposals and client engagement.
- Ensure compliance with FEMA flood mapping processes and local drainage criteria.
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. in Civil Engineering (M.S. preferred).
- Licensed PE in Texas with 3+ years of licensure.
- 12+ years of experience in drainage design and modeling (or 10+ years with M.S.).
- Proven leadership in project management and engineering design.
- Familiarity with Microstation, OpenRoads Drainage, GEOPAK Drainage, Storm and Sanitary.
- Strong communication and technical writing skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with City of Austin, Travis County, Bexar County, San Antonio agencies.
- TxDOT pre-certifications.
