Senior Structural Engineer

About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced and driven Senior Structural Engineer to join our Chicago-based team. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong foundation in structural design, a passion for client engagement, and the ability to lead projects and mentor a team. The successful candidate will contribute to diverse projects across various sectors, including commercial, residential, educational, healthcare, and industrial buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
Structural Design and Analysis:
- Lead the structural design of complex building projects using materials such as steel, concrete, wood, and masonry.
- Conduct structural analysis, develop engineering solutions, and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Oversee the preparation of design documents, drawings, and calculations.
Client Engagement:
- Serve as a key point of contact for clients, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment with their goals and expectations.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and proposals to clients and stakeholders.
- Maintain and expand client relationships to support ongoing and future projects.
Project Leadership:
- Manage and oversee multiple projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget adherence.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, contractors, and consultants, to deliver integrated solutions.
- Conduct project reviews and implement quality assurance procedures.
Team Development and Mentorship:
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to junior engineers and technical staff.
- Lead project teams and promote a collaborative work environment.
- Identify opportunities for professional development and encourage team growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required; SE license preferred or willingness to obtain.
- 10+ years of structural engineering experience with a strong focus on building projects.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., Revit, ETABS, RISA, SAP2000, or similar).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in client-facing roles.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage teams effectively.
- Proven expertise in delivering projects across various sectors and building types.
