Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Senior Transmission Line Project Manager to lead and oversee large-scale transmission line projects. In this role, you will take charge of the planning, execution, and successful delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. You will lead cross-functional teams, engage with clients, manage project risks, and uphold safety and quality standards. This position requires significant travel to project sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead all aspects of transmission line projects from start to finish, including scope definition, resource planning, scheduling, and execution. Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Team Management: Oversee, mentor, and guide project teams, including engineers, subcontractors, and field staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Client Relationship Management: Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring that their expectations are met. Lead meetings to track project progress, address issues, and maintain positive relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Budget & Financial Oversight: Develop and manage project budgets, track expenses, and identify opportunities for cost optimization. Ensure financial performance aligns with the project's goals.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring that solutions are implemented to avoid delays or cost overruns.
- Safety & Quality Assurance: Ensure all activities comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and quality controls. Promote a strong safety culture across the project team and field operations.
- Reporting & Documentation: Oversee the creation and maintenance of detailed project documentation, including schedules, contracts, and progress reports. Provide regular updates to senior management and clients on project status and performance.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience managing transmission line projects, with at least 5 years in a senior project management role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale EPC projects in the transmission and distribution sector.
- Expertise in managing complex project timelines, budgets, and resources.
Skills:
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced knowledge of project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore).
- In-depth understanding of safety standards, regulations, and best practices in transmission line construction.
- Exceptional problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
Certifications: OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR, PMP certification, or equivalent credentials are highly preferred.
Travel Requirements: This role requires frequent travel to project sites (50%-75% travel).
Preferred Qualifications:
- In-depth experience with high-voltage transmission line construction, overhead and underground systems.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes specific to transmission projects.
- Experience negotiating large-scale contracts with clients and subcontractors.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Travel: Extensive travel to project sites required.
- Environment: The role involves working in both office and outdoor construction site settings. Exposure to extreme weather conditions, high noise levels, safety hazards (e.g., electrical currents, heavy equipment), and atmospheric conditions (e.g., dust, fumes).
- Physical Requirements: The role may require sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting (up to 40 pounds). Driving to project sites may be necessary.
