An established, employee-owned environmental consulting firm serving both private and public-sector clients across the United States is currently seeking a motivated and energetic Senior Geologist or Hydrogeologist to join our team. In this role you will support site characterization and remediation projects for industrial, commercial, and municipal clients.
Position Summary:
This role offers the opportunity to grow your career and step into mentorship in environmental remediation. You will assist with a variety of site investigation and remediation tasks, providing support in field investigations, site inspections, data analysis, and environmental remediation system operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct field investigations, ensuring workplans are followed and data is handled appropriately. This may include site inspections, soil characterization and sampling, and groundwater sampling.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of environmental remediation systems, including groundwater treatment, soil vapor extraction (SVE), air sparging, and non-aqueous phase liquid (NAPL) recovery systems.
- Document and manage subcontractor activities on client sites, ensuring that project scopes are being followed correctly.
- Interpret data, develop site conceptual models, and support the identification of environmental exposure risks.
- Prepare plans and specifications for site investigations and remediation of hazardous waste sites, brownfields, and other environmental projects.
- Managing project schedules and meeting deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in environmental engineering, geology, or related field. Entry-level candidates are also encouraged to apply.
- Skills:
- Strong technical and mechanical skills with experience in site investigation, remediation design, and system operations.
- Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work independently or as part of a team.
- OSHA HAZWOPER certification is preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift 35 pounds and work long days (up to 10 hours) in the field.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to work on hazardous waste sites when required.
