Overview: The Senior Energy Storage Engineer will lead utility-scale solar energy storage projects. With a strong focus on cost-effective, advanced project design, you'll collaborate with Procurement, Project Development, Business Development, and Engineering teams to provide technical support for energy storage systems.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for energy storage systems.
- Lead and/or manage consultants in the development of layouts, energy modeling, constructability reviews, and due diligence for energy storage projects.
- Contribute to the sizing and configuration of energy storage systems, offering guidance for cost estimates and technology selections..
- Collaborate on layout optimization and tool development based on engineering feedback.
- Participate in the selection, vetting, and contracting of major energy storage equipment.
- Support engineering teams with technical review of design and construction integration points.
- Conduct site evaluations and permitting reviews.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
- Manage vendor, contractor, and third-party engineering firm relationships.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with utility-scale battery energy storage design, commissioning, and inverter control.
