We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with a focus on Science & Technology projects to join our dynamic MEP team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing and managing electrical systems for complex research, laboratory, and technology-focused facilities. You will lead electrical design efforts from concept through construction, ensuring that projects meet technical requirements, sustainability goals, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical design for science and technology projects, including research labs, clean rooms, data centers, and high-tech manufacturing facilities.
- Develop electrical system concepts and detailed designs for power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, and controls.
- Oversee the preparation of electrical documentation from schematic design to construction administration, ensuring technical accuracy and code compliance.
- Collaborate with architects, mechanical and plumbing engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical systems into project designs.
- Conduct energy efficiency studies and implement sustainable design practices, ensuring compliance with LEED or other green building standards.
- Manage and mentor project teams, ensuring quality work and timely delivery of deliverables.
- Prepare and review electrical specifications, construction documents, and reports.
- Interface with clients, responding to technical queries and providing design updates and reports.
- Support project management in preparing budgets, man-hour estimates, and scheduling.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations to discuss design solutions and project progress.
- Stay current with advancements in electrical engineering, technology trends, and industry best practices, especially in science and technology sectors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; PE licensure required.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical design, with a focus on science and technology projects.
- Extensive experience in designing electrical systems for laboratories, research facilities, data centers, and clean rooms.
- Strong knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, and standards, including NEC, NFPA, and energy efficiency guidelines.
- LEED accreditation is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in electrical design software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and power analysis tools (e.g., SKM, ETAP, or similar).
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment, with a focus on client satisfaction and project success.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to travel to and from project sites and attend client meetings.
- Visual and physical ability to conduct on-site assessments and evaluations of electrical systems.
