Job Overview: The roadway engineer will be responsible for providing civil engineering design services within a collaborative, team-driven environment. The role will primarily focus on transportation engineering projects for both public and private sector clients, with project sizes ranging from smaller designs to multimillion-dollar initiatives. Our clients include state DOTs and various governmental agencies at the municipal, county, and state levels.
Key Responsibilities: The main duties of this role include:
- Producing civil engineering design plans on a daily basis.
- Collaborating with team members to ensure quality designs that meet budgetary and scheduling requirements.
- Taking responsibility for client satisfaction and the successful technical execution of projects.
- Completing additional tasks as required.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution is required.
- At least 4 years of experience with plan preparation for public agency roadway projects.
- EIT Certification is required, or the ability to obtain it within 6 months of employment.
- A PE license is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microstation and relevant transportation design software (OpenRoads Designer, Geopak). Candidates with experience in AutoCAD/Civil 3D will also be considered.
- Solid understanding of DOT/AASHTO standards.
- Experience with DOT projects, especially in Georgia, is preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and writing skills.
