Position: Project Manager - Federal
Location: Virginia Beach
Role Overview: As a Project Manager for the Federal Market Sector, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing activities on single or multi-discipline projects involving architecture, engineering, planning, and interior design. You will be the primary point of contact for contracts and projects with the Department of Defense (DoD) worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and motivate project teams, ensuring effective communication and adherence to federal processes and criteria.
- Coordinate with federal clients to complete new construction and renovation projects.
- Develop and present projects to clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Support federal marketing and business development activities.
- Prepare contracts, fee proposals, and participate in contract negotiations.
- Ensure compliance with quality control policies and procedures.
- Manage project planning, budgeting, and critical objectives.
- Facilitate project team meetings and maintain project documentation.
Project Responsibilities:
- Organize and facilitate project meetings with clients.
- Understand UFC and other federal codes and design standards.
- Prepare and transmit project deliverables.
- Monitor project scope and schedule.
- Provide progress reports and maintain electronic files.
- Prepare and monitor project budgets and schedules.
- Review project-related expenses and invoices.
- Conduct project closeout and archiving tasks.
- Schedule quality control reviews and periodic site visits during construction.
Education, Technology, and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, interior design, or planning preferred.
- Licensure as a Professional Engineer, Registered Architect, or Interior Designer preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desirable.
- Familiarity with design and production software.
- Minimum of 12 years of significant design and leadership experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Previous DoD project experience is preferred.
- Ability to travel and obtain a US Government-issued Secret level Security Clearance.
- Ability to access military installations globally.
- Client-oriented attitude with outstanding professional service skills.
- Demonstrated leadership within and outside the firm.
Workplace Flexibility:
- Mondays and Thursdays are mandatory in-office days to foster collaboration and innovation.
- One additional in-office day will be set between you and your supervisor.
- Wednesdays are work-from-home days.
