Job Description: Structural Project Engineer
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Structural Project Engineer with 5+ years of professional experience in structural engineering, focusing on mission-critical, hospitality, and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. This role involves collaboration with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver innovative and cost-effective structural solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Lead structural engineering efforts for mission-critical, hospitality, and commercial projects from concept through construction, ensuring designs meet project goals, timelines, and budgets.
- Design & Analysis: Perform detailed structural analysis and design using steel, concrete, masonry, and wood. Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards, including IBC, ASCE, AISC, and ACI.
- Collaboration: Work closely with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to develop coordinated designs and resolve complex project challenges.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed design drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports. Review shop drawings and respond to RFI requests during the construction phase.
- Quality Control: Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with design documents and quality standards.
- Innovation: Apply advanced engineering tools and techniques, including BIM software such as Revit and structural analysis software (RISA, SAP2000, ETABS, etc.), to create efficient and innovative solutions.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance to junior engineers and support their professional development.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, with a portfolio of mission-critical, hospitality, and commercial projects.
- Licensure: EIT required; PE license preferred or actively working towards licensure.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of structural design principles, materials, and software tools such as Revit, RISA, RAM, or similar.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present ideas clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
