Role Overview:
As a Practice Builder, you will take on a dual role that combines business development with project leadership. You will be tasked with building and growing the firm's environmental consulting presence in San Diego, developing new client relationships, and driving revenue generation. While managing high-impact projects in environmental site assessments, investigations, remediation, and compliance, you will also be expected to lead new business initiatives, grow our market share, and contribute to strategic firm goals. This is a fully remote position with a strong focus on client relationship management and regional expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Expansion: Lead the charge in building out the firm's environmental consulting services in the San Diego market, generating new business and securing long-term client relationships.
- Revenue Growth: Drive business development efforts to generate over $350k in revenue within the first financial year, building a sustainable pipeline of projects.
- Project Management: Oversee complex environmental consulting projects, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline, while maintaining high standards of quality and client satisfaction.
- Client Relationship Development: Cultivate strong relationships with existing and potential clients, positioning the firm as a trusted partner for innovative environmental solutions.
- Team Leadership: Provide mentorship and leadership to junior consultants, fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented remote team.
- Strategic Business Development: Collaborate with senior leadership to align San Diego growth strategies with firm-wide objectives, including market research and competitive positioning.
- Industry Awareness: Stay abreast of regulatory changes, industry trends, and emerging technologies to provide clients with the most effective and up-to-date environmental solutions.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 15+ years in environmental consulting, with expertise in site assessments, remediation, investigations, or compliance. Proven experience growing a consulting practice in a competitive market.
- Business Development: Demonstrated success in generating significant revenue through business development, including proposal writing, negotiations, and long-term client relationship management.
- Project Delivery: Strong background in managing and executing complex environmental projects, with a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and environmental best practices.
- Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and grow a remote team.
- Educational Background: BS/BA in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Certifications: Professional certifications (e.g., PE, PG, CHG) preferred but not required.
