Job Title: Mid-Senior Biologist

About the Role:
We are seeking Mid-Level and Senior Biologists to join our team in San Diego, focused on construction monitoring and regulatory permitting. The Mid-Level Biologist will support field assessments and report preparation, while the Senior Biologist will lead business development efforts, manage client relationships, and oversee complex projects.
Both roles require the ability to work independently, with teams, and ensure regulatory compliance for construction projects in California.
Key Responsibilities:
Mid-Level Biologist:
- Conduct field surveys and biological monitoring during construction projects.
- Assist in preparing biological reports (e.g., CEQA documents, biological assessments).
- Support regulatory permitting processes and agency coordination.
- Assist with proposal preparation and project execution.
Senior Biologist (In addition to the above):
- Lead business development efforts to secure new clients and generate proposals.
- Manage client relationships and ensure successful project outcomes.
- Review and approve technical reports, ensuring compliance and quality.
- Lead and mentor field teams, ensuring proper monitoring protocols are followed.
- Oversee project timelines, budgets, and coordination with contractors.
Required Qualifications:
Mid-Level Biologist:
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or related field.
- 4-7 years of experience in biological consulting or construction monitoring.
- Experience with CEQA, ESA, and CESA regulations.
- Fieldwork experience in construction environments.
- Proficiency in GIS and technical report writing.
Senior Biologist (In addition to the above):
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology, Ecology, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in construction monitoring and regulatory permitting.
- Strong background in CEQA compliance, business development, and client management.
- Leadership experience with project management and mentoring junior staff.
- Proven success in generating new business and preparing proposals.
