Job Overview:
The Senior Environmental Remediation Specialist will be responsible for leading complex remediation projects, developing strategic approaches, managing multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead environmental remediation projects from planning through implementation, including site assessments, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, and remedial action design and execution.
- Develop and oversee the execution of site-specific remediation strategies for soil, groundwater, and sediment contamination, using both traditional and cutting-edge technologies.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of projects.
- Coordinate and supervise fieldwork activities, including sampling, site investigations, and monitoring.
- Provide technical expertise in environmental regulations, environmental impact assessments, and risk assessments for site cleanup and redevelopment.
- Interact with clients, regulators, and other stakeholders to ensure project compliance, approval, and clear communication.
- Mentor junior staff and provide leadership on technical issues, helping to foster the development of team members.
- Prepare high-quality technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and regulatory agencies.
- Stay current on new trends, technologies, and best practices in environmental remediation and sustainability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in environmental remediation, with a strong focus on hazardous waste management, site assessments, and cleanup technologies.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including CERCLA, RCRA, and state-specific guidelines.
- Demonstrated experience with remedial design, feasibility studies, and the management of field operations related to soil and groundwater contamination.
- Proven project management skills, including budget oversight, scheduling, and cross-functional team leadership.
- Ability to lead complex projects with minimal supervision while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
- Professional certifications (such as Professional Engineer, Licensed Geologist, or similar) are highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to interact with clients, regulators, and stakeholders at all levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in both public and private sector remediation projects.
- Familiarity with advanced remediation technologies, such as bioremediation, in situ chemical oxidation, or thermal treatment.
