Position Overview:
The Mechanical Technical Lead will play a key role in overseeing mechanical system design, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring high-quality project delivery. This individual will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop efficient, innovative, and sustainable mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, and industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the mechanical design process for MEP projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and sustainability goals.
- Perform HVAC system calculations, equipment selection, and energy modeling to optimize performance.
- Oversee and review mechanical engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to deliver integrated design solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.
- Conduct site visits for field verification, inspections, and commissioning support.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and sustainable practices to enhance project designs.
- Assist with client presentations, proposals, and project management tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or the ability to obtain it.
- 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on HVAC and sustainable design.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, ASHRAE standards, and LEED certification requirements.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and energy modeling software (e.g., Trane TRACE, eQuest).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
