Job Title: Associate Mechanical Engineer
Location: Atlanta (Hybrid role with 2 days in the office)
Company Overview: A national architecture, engineering, and construction consulting firm is seeking dynamic leaders with a proven track record in project management and MEP system design. We work with real estate owners, investors, and lenders at every point of the property lifecycle to evaluate building projects, solve complex challenges, and implement tailored solutions. Our projects cover a wide range of commercial building types, including multi-family, office, retail, industrial, hotel/hospitality, community college, governmental, and municipal facilities.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct property condition assessments (PCAs) and facility condition assessments (FCAs) with a team of architectural and engineering professionals.
- Assist clients with the preparation of annual capital, operations, and maintenance costs.
- Peer review building designs.
- Perform energy audits, system commissioning, forensic evaluations, construction management, and design and evaluations of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Interact with clients and site personnel.
- Engage in diverse projects offering unique challenges and opportunities to make a tangible impact.
- Travel to project sites as required.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME), Electrical Engineering (BSEE), or Architectural Engineering (BSAE) with a mechanical or electrical specialty.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- At least 10 years of experience in the engineering design and/or evaluation of building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Demonstrated leadership and project management successes.
- Expertise in HVAC and plumbing systems, with fundamental knowledge of electrical systems and energy conservation concepts.
- Working knowledge of national and state building codes.
- Experience in facilities engineering, energy audits, commissioning, and sustainability consulting is a plus.
- LEED or CEM certification is a plus.
- Ability to integrate sustainability with local requirements to provide expert solutions to clients.
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, PlanGrid, and Box.
- Commitment to collaboration across disciplines and lifelong learning in the field of MEP engineering.
