Title: Lead Electrical Engineer - Mission Critical

Qualifications:
- Experience in power network studies, including arc flash, load flow, short circuit, motor starting, relay coordination, and harmonic studies
- Proficiency with backup power systems, UPS systems, and generators

- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (or a related field) from an ABET-accredited institution is required
- 8-15 years of consulting engineering experience, preferably with an A/E firm
- Proficient in software tools such as REVIT, AutoCAD, MS Office, etc.
- Familiarity with SKM, EasyPower, ETAP, and Bluebeam
- Advanced knowledge of NEC Codes, hazardous area standards, and California Building Code (CBC)
- Strong client-facing, relationship management, and communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Exceptional organizational and planning skills
- PMP certification is a plus
- Professional Engineering (PE) license
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage design and planning projects for data centers, ranging from small to hyperscale
- Direct and oversee multi-disciplinary project teams
- Extensive background in electrical engineering, particularly in designing data centers, including power distribution systems (substations, HV/LV switchgear, MCCs, cable sizing, single-line diagrams, area classification, grounding, lighting, cathodic protection, and electrical heat tracing in both hazardous and non-hazardous areas)
- Oversee and perform complex electrical building designs
- Develop conceptual and detailed electrical systems designs, load calculations, equipment sizing, selection, layout, and heat trace systems
- Interpret and apply client specifications
- Collaborate with other disciplines and clients for effective communication
- Ensure design packages comply with BOD, standards, codes, and constructability through QA/QC reviews
- Work with internal marketing teams to strategize on new client and contract development opportunities
- Meet with clients to showcase your team's capabilities in delivering high-end data center designs that meet cost and schedule objectives
- Develop scope and engineering specifications, understand client needs, and prepare BOD, SD, DD, and CDs for bidding packages
- Maintain bid documents, submittals, and manage responses to RFIs and change orders
- Manage discipline-specific projects, ensuring focus on scope, budget, schedule, quality, and deliverables
- Oversee data center program management, staying ahead of technical advancements, client business model shifts, and staffing needs
- Collaborate across disciplines to ensure cohesive project designs
- Develop and update design standards in line with the latest technology trends for the design team
- Identify and address issues with timely and effective solutions
- Mentor and support junior members of the electrical engineering team
- Assist in recruiting talent to meet project demands
- Coordinate with external stakeholders (clients, general contractors, subcontractors, architects, AHJ)
- Communicate and coordinate deliverables with other disciplines
- Participate in weekly project meetings and provide regular updates to internal and external stakeholders
- Foster client satisfaction through effective business relations, daily interactions, and on-time task completion
- Review construction cost estimates and provide feedback
- Address and resolve any issues during construction, startup, or commissioning phases
