Job Summary: We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating for heavy civil and ground-up construction projects. This role involves preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates to support project bidding and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil and ground-up construction projects.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to understand project scope and requirements.
- Develop and maintain a database of unit costs and historical data for reference.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies in the estimating process.
- Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and present estimate reports and proposals to clients and senior management.
- Assist in the preparation of project budgets and schedules.
- Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and construction methods to ensure accurate and competitive estimates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on heavy civil or ground-up projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Proficient in estimating software and tools.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
