Heavy Civil Estimator
Salary: $140,000-$160,000 + Bonus(s)

Job Summary:
This firm is a reputable general contractor in the Tacoma area seeking a highly skilled Heavy Civil Estimator to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience estimating heavy civil projects, including site development, road construction, utilities, and other infrastructure projects. Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for heavy civil projects including roads, bridges, utilities, and site work.
- Review plans, specifications, and other documentation to determine project requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather relevant data for estimating.
- Analyze labor, material, and subcontractor costs and develop bid proposals.
- Track project costs and manage any changes to scope, ensuring project profitability.
- Evaluate risks and identify opportunities to optimize project costs.
- Maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to ensure competitive pricing and quality.
Experience Needed:
- 5+ years of experience as an estimator for heavy civil or infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in estimating the full range of heavy civil works including roads, utilities, grading, and concrete.
- Familiarity with estimating software (e.g., ProEst, HCSS, or similar platforms).
- Strong understanding of project plans, specifications, and local construction codes.
- Experience in cost control and project budget management.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify and mitigate risks during the bidding process.
Qualifications Needed:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
- Certification as an Estimator (AACE, ASPE, or equivalent) a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and estimating software.
- Knowledge of local market conditions and subcontractor networks in the Tacoma area is a plus.
