About the Role
LVI Associates are searching for an experienced Forensic Structural Project Manager to join our client's Diagnostic team. This position combines in-depth knowledge of forensic structural engineering with exceptional project management skills to lead investigations into structural failures, oversee multidisciplinary teams, and produce high-quality client reports.
The Forensic Engineer/Project Manager will oversee both technical production and the contractual aspects of multiple projects, focusing on areas such as restoration, rehabilitation, renovation, and forensic-related work. Responsibilities also include contributing to marketing efforts, business development, and the expansion of the team. Ideal candidates should have expertise and a strong interest in restoration, rehabilitation, water infiltration, building envelope concerns, and forensic engineering.

Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Manage multiple forensic investigation projects, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Structural Assessments: Conduct site visits to evaluate structural damage or failure, collect evidence, and assess conditions.
- Failure Analysis: Investigate and determine the root causes of structural issues, including material defects, design errors, or construction deficiencies.
- Report Preparation: Prepare detailed technical reports with findings, conclusions, and recommendations for repair or legal purposes.
- Client Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, including property owners, attorneys, insurance adjusters, and developers.
- Team Collaboration: Coordinate with engineers, architects, contractors, and other specialists to gather input and resolve structural challenges.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensure all investigations and recommendations comply with applicable building codes, standards, and industry best practices.
- Testimony and Consultation: Provide expert witness testimony for legal proceedings, when necessary.
- Diagnostics Group Support: Collaborate on marketing, business development, and strategies for growing the Diagnostics Group.
- Technical Production: Manage technical production and contractual aspects of projects, with a focus on restoration, rehabilitation, and building envelope issues.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structures (preferred).
- Licensure:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- Experience:
- 7+ years of relevant experience with proven growth, including forensic investigations and diagnostics.
- Experience in litigation/forensics and established relationships with attorneys and insurance clients.
- Skills:
- Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proven ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
- Exceptional people management skills and a strong customer service focus.
- Proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Technical Expertise:
- Knowledge of restoration, rehabilitation, renovation, water infiltration, and building envelope issues.
- Familiarity with structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, RISA), AutoCAD, and/or Revit.
