They provided a variety of services to enhance building exteriors. They design and engineer systems like aluminum and glass curtain walls, custom window walls, natural stone cladding, skylights, and metal panels. They also handle more complex structures like cable net and point-supported walls.
They are seeking an experience exterior wall consultant with 8+ years of experience to join the team!
Role Responsibilities
- Knowledge of the following systems is a must: aluminum-and-glass curtain wall systems, window systems, masonry, stone, precast concrete, and façade systems.
- Conduct site investigations, condition assessments, and forensic analysis to diagnose building envelope issues (e.g., air leakage, water penetration, thermal bridging).
- Oversee construction administration, perform field reviews, and provide recommendations for resolving issues on-site.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and clients to ensure alignment with project goals and industry best practices.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, proposals, and presentations.
- Mentor junior consultants and contribute to their professional development.
- Stay updated on industry standards, codes, and advancements in building envelope technology.
Qualifications:
- Read and interpret architectural and structural drawings, wind tunnel test reports, and technical specifications
- Develop new architectural details or remedial details and specifications for exterior building enclosure systems
- Work outdoors on construction sites, observing installations, conducting wall condition surveys, and performing diagnostic testing
- Communicate effectively and work both independently and within a team
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and Bluebeam/Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Willingness to travel
Preferred Qualifications:
- Licensed (or working toward licensure) Architect or Engineer
- Experience with architectural drawing programmes (Revit or AutoCAD)
- Participation in National Standards Committees
