Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated DMV Electrical VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) Coordinator to support the development and coordination of electrical systems for data center projects across the United States. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in electrical design or construction and a deep understanding of BIM/VDC methodologies. This remote role requires collaboration with a diverse team to ensure seamless integration and execution of electrical systems within mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities
- BIM/VDC Coordination: Support and manage BIM/VDC workflows for electrical systems, ensuring alignment with project requirements and industry standards.
- Model Development: Create and maintain detailed 3D models of electrical systems using software such as Revit, Navisworks, and other BIM tools.
- Clash Detection: Perform clash detection and coordinate resolutions with other trades to maintain project efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
- Quality Assurance: Review models to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to project specifications.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain project documentation, including workflows, updates, and deliverables.
- Process Optimization: Contribute to the development and refinement of BIM/VDC standards and processes.
- Training Support: Assist in training and supporting team members on BIM/VDC tools and workflows.
- Technology Advancement: Stay up to date with the latest advancements in BIM/VDC technology to enhance efficiency and innovation.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in electrical design or construction, with at least 2 years in a BIM/VDC coordination role.
- Experience with data center projects or other mission-critical facilities is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and other BIM/VDC software.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and their application in data center environments.
- Knowledge of clash detection and coordination techniques.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote and collaborative team environment.
