Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Excavation Construction Manager / General Superintendent to join the team. This role requires a dynamic leader who will oversee excavation operations on various job sites across the nation. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of excavation processes, site safety, and project management, with a proven ability to manage multiple teams and projects at different locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of excavation projects, from initial planning through completion, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget.
- Lead and supervise a team of foremen, operators, and laborers on various job sites.
- Coordinate daily activities, allocate resources, and ensure productivity standards are met.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, OSHA standards, and company policies.
- Conduct regular inspections and site assessments to ensure quality control and compliance with project specifications.
- Communicate effectively with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to resolve any issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on project status, progress, and challenges.
- Develop and implement site-specific safety programs and training for all team members.
- Travel frequently to project sites across the country, with occasional overnight stays.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in excavation and heavy civil construction, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of excavation techniques, equipment, and safety standards.
- Proven ability to manage large, complex projects and teams across multiple locations.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to solve problems efficiently and think critically under pressure.
- Proficient in project management software and construction management tools.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently.
- OSHA 30 certification and other relevant safety certifications are a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
