A leading civil consulting firm is on the lookout for a seasoned and driven Director of Survey to spearhead its surveying and mapping operations in Michigan. This role demands a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) certification in Michigan and at least 10 years of professional land surveying experience, including a minimum of 2 years in project management. The Director of Survey will manage the Land Surveying department, ensuring all projects comply with internal standards and local regulations. You will collaborate closely with the local team and clients, delivering precise, high-quality surveying services using advanced technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage surveying and mapping projects, including topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, and construction staking.
- Implement advanced technologies such as LiDAR mapping, drones, GPS, and traditional surveying methods.
- Oversee daily operations, coordinating field survey activities and office tasks like field note reduction, traverse adjustments, and topographic map preparation.
- Integrate and promote the use of innovative Survey, Mapping, and Geomatics technologies.
Qualifications:
- PLS certification in Michigan and Illinois preferred.
- At least 10 years of professional experience in land surveying.
- Minimum of 2 years of project management experience.
- Business development experience is a plus.
