Department Manager, Distribution Engineering
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Distribution Engineering Department, overseeing the design of new electric distribution systems, upgrades, and system enhancements.
- Develop and implement strategies for the growth, upgrade, and maintenance of the electric distribution network to ensure reliability and meet industry standards.
- Supervise and mentor a team of engineers and technical professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and safety.
- Review and approve engineering designs, technical specifications, and project plans to ensure alignment with project scope, timelines, and budgets.
- Collaborate with project management, construction, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of designs and successful project delivery.
- Support clients including but not limited to developers, wholesale power providers, investor owned utilities, and local municipalities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in electric distribution engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of overhead and underground design, working with voltages 4kV- 34kV.
- Proven ability to manage, mentor, and motivate engineering teams.
