Construction Project Manager
The Construction Project Manager supports the EPC (Engineer-Procure-Construct) or Program Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations from pre-construction through project completion and warranty phases. This role is responsible for managing safety, quality, schedules, costs, contracts, subcontractors, suppliers, proposals, estimates, and documentation, as well as client relationships and field staff to ensure the successful execution of EPC, Construction Management, and Program Management projects.
Key responsibilities include adhering to company safety programs, managing the safety and health performance of the project team, and ensuring compliance with all safety policies. The Construction Project Manager will oversee daily construction activities and successfully execute one or multiple projects simultaneously, providing leadership in project planning, scheduling, estimating, cost development, and goal-setting.
The role requires building and maintaining client relationships, managing proposal processes, and negotiating contracts and change orders. The manager will participate in risk reviews and consult with the legal department as needed. They will also implement sections of the Project Execution Plan, including safety, subcontracting, procurement, staffing, and quality assurance plans.
Additionally, the Construction Project Manager is responsible for developing staffing plans, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources while meeting contractual requirements. The manager will oversee site mobilization, secure permits, manage subcontractor bid processes, and ensure smooth project turnover and closeout procedures.
This role involves managing project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and status reports, as well as collaborating with engineering teams to meet project schedules and requirements. The Construction Project Manager will also handle subcontractor and client invoicing, perform project audits, and manage project documentation processes, including RFIs, submittals, change management, and claims mitigation.
The role also requires oversight of materials management, safety, quality audits, and non-conformance reporting. The Construction Project Manager will mentor team members, provide performance feedback, manage labor agreements, and oversee craft training and advancement. They will ensure proper management of construction equipment, labor costs, and crew rates to support project success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, with at least 7 years of relevant project management experience in the construction industry. Applicable experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access) and experience with project management software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in construction or program management across industries such as aviation, commercial, energy, government, oil & gas, manufacturing, transportation, and utilities is preferred.
- Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required.
- Must meet the company's driving requirements and adhere to all company policies and standards.
