Civil Engineer/Project Manager
Reports to: Vice President/Managing Principal
Role Description:
A full-time opportunity for a Civil Engineer with 8-10 years of experience, registered as a Professional Engineer in the state of Washington. This position involves managing and designing a wide range of land development and public works projects for various industrial, commercial, and residential developments. Responsibilities include initial project research, plan production and management, plan processing, construction administration, and project close-out efforts.

Duties:
- Function as a Lead Civil Engineer
- Prepare preliminary engineering reports
- Research jurisdictional requirements for design and construction drawings
- Prepare proposals/contracts and project work plans and schedules
- Prepare design and construction drawings using AutoCAD
- Coordinate client management and marketing efforts for future work
- Prepare GIS exhibits using ArcGIS
- Conduct site visits and document findings
- Work directly with clients and direct a staff with varied levels of experience and expertise
- Attend, record, and distribute meeting minutes and assist with general project correspondence
- Write or prepare graphic materials for presentations or documents
- Lead a team of engineers and drafters
- Initiate and lead kickoff calls or high-level design calls with clients
- Prepare monthly forecasting and client cost estimates when appropriate

- Ensure proper staff assignment and utilization on projects
- Review project reports and performance metrics to track progress and budget
- Lead successful projects (profit, on-schedule, quality, satisfied client)
- Contribute to successful delivery and performance of projects
- Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships
- Follow and enforce business processes and quality initiatives
- Engage in training, coaching, and mentoring junior staff
- Maintain current job knowledge and technical skills

Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Civil Engineering
- Licensed PE in Washington with 8-10 years of experience
- Experience producing accurate and complete construction plans and reports
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with limited supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to train staff and review work for quality assurance
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Knowledge of MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Civil3D is a plus
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Willingness to assume increased responsibilities
- Proactive communication with clients and effective problem-solving
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
- Ability to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
