Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Building Automation Engineer in Fredericksburg, VA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building automation systems (BAS), HVAC controls, and energy management. This role involves designing, programming, and commissioning building automation systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement building automation systems for commercial and industrial buildings.
- Program and configure BAS controllers, sensors, and other devices.
- Perform system integration and ensure interoperability between different BAS components.
- Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine project requirements.
- Develop and review project documentation, including control drawings, sequences of operation, and submittals.
- Commission and troubleshoot BAS installations to ensure proper operation.
- Provide technical support and training to clients and junior engineers.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in building automation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in building automation systems, HVAC controls, or a related field.
- Proficiency in programming BAS software such as Tridium, Siemens, Johnson Controls, or similar.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and energy management principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional certifications such as LEED, CEM, or PMP are a plus.
