Position Overview:
We are looking for a Bridge Structural Engineer with a proven track record to take on significant leadership responsibilities within our team. As the primary consultant on major bridge projects, you will play a crucial role in delivering design solutions and technical expertise. This is a high-visibility role with opportunities to grow vertically within the firm. You'll work closely with senior leaders, benefit from hands-on mentorship, and manage diverse and challenging projects that push the boundaries of civil engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage bridge design and structural projects from inception to completion, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with industry standards.
- Oversee project teams and coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to meet project goals and timelines.
- Conduct detailed structural analysis and design for complex bridge types, ensuring innovative and cost-effective solutions.
- Provide technical expertise on design challenges and offer solutions to problems that arise during the project lifecycle.
- Manage budgets, schedules, and resources for multiple projects concurrently.
- Prepare and review technical reports, design calculations, proposals, and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of local, state, and federal regulations, including AASHTO and other relevant codes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, with a focus on Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) and Structural Engineer (SE) licensure in the state of Illinois is required.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in bridge design and structural engineering, with a focus on complex infrastructure projects.
- Proven project management experience, including managing budgets, timelines, and resources.
- Strong technical design experience in bridge engineering, including expertise in structural analysis, design, and materials.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to effectively manage project teams and liaise with clients.
- Experience with advanced engineering software and tools for bridge design and analysis.
