The BIM Coordinator plays a key role in our construction team, working closely with project managers and contributing to all 2D and 3D modeling efforts. This role ensures seamless coordination and production of shop drawings while supporting a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drawing Production: Create and review detailed 2D and 3D electrical drawings for field installations, ensuring coordination with other subcontractor trades.
- Clash Resolution: Participate in coordination meetings to identify and resolve clashes, maintaining compliance with budget constraints, constructability standards, and NEC code requirements.
- Shop Drawings & Cross-Sections: Develop shop drawings, cross-sections, and detailed plans for underground conduits, cables, and other electrical systems to guide fabrication and installation teams.
- Design Clarifications: Prepare and track RFIs (Requests for Information) to clarify original designs, incorporating responses into project plans as needed.
- Plan Interpretation: Read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical plans, sections, and elevations.
- Problem Solving: Collaborate with engineers, project management teams, and production crews to resolve technical issues and provide necessary drawing adjustments.
- Site Visits: Travel to various project sites as required for on-site coordination and support.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in creating and coordinating 2D and 3D models.
- Familiarity with architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical plans.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of NEC code requirements and constructability principles.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
- Experience with BIM/VDC tools and processes is preferred.
