About the Role
Our client is seeking a Structural Engineer to join their team.
This role is responsible for performing structural analysis of buildings to ensure they can support rooftop solar installations. It plays a critical part in ensuring all installations are safe, compliant, and optimized for performance.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed structural analysis of buildings for rooftop solar feasibility.
- Collaborate with project managers, construction managers, and other engineers to develop and review structural designs.
- Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building codes.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the installation team during construction.
- Perform site inspections to verify structural integrity and compliance.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation for project approvals and permits.
- Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required in New Jersey; the ability to obtain licensure in NY, PA, MA, MD, IL, and MN is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably in solar or renewable energy projects.
- Proficiency in building structural analysis software.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Teams).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
- Valid driver's license with occasional travel required.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
