Electrical Designer
We are seeking a talented Electrical Designer to manage the electrical design of power distribution and control/instrumentation cabling for heavy industrial and commercial projects. This role involves creating electrical panel schedules, cable and conduit schedules, cable tray and conduit designs, grounding plans, and schematic and wiring diagrams.
Education & Experience
Required:
- Associate's Degree, Certificate Program, or Licensed Electrician.
- Over 5 years of relevant experience in electrical and controls design for industrial and commercial projects.
- Experience in designing low and medium voltage power distribution systems.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NFPA-70).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
Preferred:
- Experience in metals manufacturing or industrial plant environments.
- Experience with fossil/gas power plant design.
- Experience with 35KV and higher distribution design.
- Experience with lighting design.
Tasks, Responsibilities, and Utilized Skills
- Prepare and modify electrical single line drawings, sketches, bills of materials, electrical panel schedules, control wiring diagrams, schematics, wiring termination drawings, and conduit/cable tray routing.
- Conduct site surveys of electrical equipment (switchgear, MCCs, power distribution, electrical and control rooms), electrical panels, manufacturing, and process equipment at client facilities (in-state and out-of-state).
- Size and select materials for power distribution and control/instrumentation cabling.
- Manage construction, including reviewing contractor and vendor submittals.
- Willingness to work additional hours on projects to meet client deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and driven to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Sensitive to client needs and project budgets and schedules.
