Project Surveyor
Our client is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Surveyor to join their growing team. This position is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a wide range of civil engineering projects across the Western Slope, including infrastructure, land development, and more. As a Project Surveyor, you will work closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure the accurate and efficient execution of surveying tasks, from initial planning through to project completion.
While licensure is not required for this position, a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) certification is preferred. Ideal candidates will have experience with various surveying tools and techniques, be proficient in the use of survey-related software, and possess a strong understanding of local survey regulations and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct land surveys for boundary, topographic, construction staking, and other related surveys in accordance with project requirements.
Prepare and process field notes, survey drawings, and reports.
Use GPS, total stations, and other survey equipment to collect data and perform calculations.
Coordinate with project managers and engineers to ensure that survey data meets project specifications and deadlines.
Review survey data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with industry standards.
Assist in the preparation of legal descriptions, plats, and other documentation as needed.
Collaborate with the project team to identify and resolve potential survey-related issues.
Ensure all survey work complies with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company procedures and quality standards.
Maintain project files, including maps, reports, and other documentation.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Previous experience in surveying, particularly in civil engineering projects, is preferred.
Familiarity with survey equipment, including GPS systems, total stations, and laser scanners.
Proficiency with survey software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar) is a plus.
PLS or LSIT certification preferred but not required.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with team members, clients, and contractors.
Knowledge of local and state survey regulations and standards is beneficial.
