Position Description: A leading company in the construction sector is seeking a Project Manager to coordinate and oversee the execution of construction projects safely and in compliance with client documents and quality requirements. The ideal candidate will be mission-oriented, goal-driven, highly organized, and detail-oriented, with strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. This role requires significant experience in telecommunications and electrical work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interface with clients and represent the company in all correspondence and meetings
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of all contract documents
- Develop and analyze preliminary project documentation
- Organize and plan the execution of physical work, with a focus on telecommunications and electrical systems
- Develop project schedules and direct their planning and execution
- Communicate and coordinate schedules with subcontractors and vendors, particularly in telecom and electrical sectors
- Recognize on-site activities that may impede project progress or jeopardize compliance
- Recognize and document potential change orders and work with customers to resolve
- Prepare and provide related informational documents to clients and implement corrective measures
- Maintain strict control of the project budget for each work activity, especially telecom and electrical installations
- Report monthly on the progress and current profitability of the project
- Write subcontracts and purchase orders for field-generated purchases and contracts
- Supervise the project activities of on-site superintendents, craft, and staff, ensuring quality in telecom and electrical work
- Promote goodwill with clients to facilitate construction activities and future repeat business
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of project management experience in underground utility construction markets, including underground electrical/civil, telecommunications, sewer/water, and fiber/electrical conduit work
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a relevant discipline
- PMP Certification strongly preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy of information
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel; estimating and scheduling software skills preferred
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines with efficiency and accuracy
- Ability to take initiative, work well under pressure, and work independently or under executive direction
