Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Principal Environmental Consultant with at least 15 years of experience in the environmental remediation field. This role requires a professional with expertise in driving new business opportunities in the environmental consulting industry. The successful candidate will be instrumental in expanding the client base, managing large remediation projects, and providing technical leadership in the area of site remediation. You will combine your technical skills with a strong business acumen to drive growth in the region while overseeing high-quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead business development efforts to expand and grow the firm's presence in the San Francisco market, with a focus on environmental remediation projects.
Leverage your established book of business to generate new clients and secure large-scale remediation projects.
Provide technical leadership and oversight for environmental remediation projects, including site assessments, risk assessments, remediation system design, and implementation.
Manage client relationships and act as the primary point of contact for high-profile clients.
Lead the preparation of proposals, project scopes, and cost estimates, and deliver compelling client presentations.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure project delivery aligns with client expectations, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
Oversee project finances, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management to ensure project success and profitability.
Mentor and guide junior staff, helping them develop both technically and professionally.
Stay informed of local, state, and federal environmental regulations, and proactively address compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).
15+ years of experience in environmental consulting, with significant focus on environmental remediation.
Professional certifications such as PE (Professional Engineer) or PG (Professional Geologist) are required.
Proven track record of business development and the ability to grow a book of business with established relationships in the environmental remediation industry.
In-depth knowledge of environmental remediation technologies, regulatory frameworks (e.g., CERCLA, RCRA, state-specific programs), and best practices.
Strong project management experience, including overseeing large, complex projects and managing project teams.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to secure new business and build long-term client relationships.
Self-motivated and results-driven with the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in the San Francisco Bay Area with an understanding of local regulatory and market dynamics.
Experience with environmental due diligence, risk assessments, and developing corrective action plans.
Familiarity with advanced environmental remediation techniques such as bioremediation, in situ treatment, and vapor intrusion mitigation.
