Company Overview: We are seeking a talented Plumbing and Fire Protection Designer to contribute to our growing portfolio of projects. My client works on a variety of project types around the Southeast including commercial, federal, healthcare, higher ed, k-12, state and local. Their ideal candidate is someone with at least 5 years of experience in plumbing and fire protection design within the MEP industry. Professional Engineering license is not required but it's a plus.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed designs for plumbing and fire protection systems in various construction projects.
- Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, IPC).
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate systems into overall building design.
- Perform hydraulic and plumbing calculations to determine system requirements.
- Conduct site visits to verify installations and troubleshoot issues.
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical support.
- Ensure project deliverables are met within scope, time, and cost parameters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional engineering license preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing plumbing and fire protection systems.
- Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
