Position Overview: My client is seeking a Mechanical Manager with extensive experience in operating mechanical systems within large-scale data centers. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of advanced mechanical cooling systems, fire alarm systems, fuel systems, and controls. A strong understanding of building monitoring systems used to manage mechanical cooling infrastructure is essential. This role will oversee all planned and emergency maintenance for the facility, ensuring critical loads remain uninterrupted.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement operating and maintenance strategies to ensure the continuous reliability of all critical mechanical systems.
Create and manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs for essential equipment.
Oversee vendor service contracts and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Manage budgets and costs related to mechanical infrastructure and operations.
Ensure adherence to company policies and best practices for data center operations.
Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within data center or critical facility environments.
Strong understanding of data center systems and mechanical building infrastructure.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and technical writing.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to develop creative and innovative solutions.
Ability to build consensus and drive initiatives forward.
Strong analytical skills to identify industry trends and their impact on operations.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Project, Visio, or AutoCAD is a plus.
Five years of facility management or engineering experience in a high-reliability data center is advantageous.
Additional Requirements:
Limited travel may be required.
Must always carry a company-issued cell phone.
Extended hours may be necessary as required by operational needs.
