ICT Designer
We are seeking a Telecommunications Infrastructure Designer with a strong background in data center design to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing structured cabling systems, fiber optic networks, and other low-voltage systems critical to data center operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop telecommunications infrastructure for data centers, ensuring compliance with industry standards (BICSI, TIA/EIA, ANSI, NEC, etc.).
- Create Revit and AutoCAD drawings for structured cabling, pathways, and equipment layouts.
- Develop technical specifications, bill of materials (BOMs), and design documentation for projects.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of telecommunications systems.
- Provide technical guidance and support to clients, contractors, and internal teams.
- Conduct site surveys to assess existing infrastructure and recommend upgrades or new designs.
- Stay updated on emerging data center trends, technologies, and best practices in structured cabling and network infrastructure.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 4+ years of experience in telecommunications infrastructure design, with a focus on data centers.
- Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for system design.
- Knowledge of structured cabling systems (fiber optics, copper, backbone distribution).
- Familiarity with TIA/EIA, BICSI, and NEC standards.
- RCDD certification preferred but not required.
- Strong problem-solving and project coordination skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with hyperscale or enterprise data centers.
- Knowledge of networking principles, power distribution, and cooling in a data center environment.
- Certifications such as BICSI Technician, CTS, or manufacturer-specific credentials (e.g., Panduit, CommScope).
