Key Responsibilities

  • Lead business development initiatives for large Commercial & Industrial (C&I) power and gas customers, including sourcing new leads and cultivating long-term client relationships.

  • Specialize in the Manufacturing & Chemicals industry vertical, covering heavy industry, engineered products, industrial equipment, specialty chemicals, and raw material synthesis.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide consultative guidance on a comprehensive suite of energy solutions, including site selection, grid interconnection, infrastructure development, on-site generation, energy storage, renewables, procurement strategies, and market analytics.

  • Manage all aspects of the sales pipeline-from prospecting through deal closure-ensuring seamless handoffs and a high standard of client service.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering strategic insights and energy expertise tailored to their operational needs.

  • Engage in both virtual and in-person sales activities, including participation in industry events and client meetings.

  • Monitor industry trends and competitive intelligence to refine sales strategies and enhance the client value proposition.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Energy Management, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in sales or business development, ideally within the energy sector.

  • 10+ years of experience in C&I power or gas procurement, consulting, or infrastructure projects.

  • 5+ years of experience working with clients in the manufacturing and/or chemicals industry.

  • Proven ability to drive revenue growth and nurture high-value client relationships.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for influencing key stakeholders.

  • Strong understanding of energy markets and industry-specific dynamics.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree (e.g., MBA) or related advanced degree.

  • Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Energy Manager, Certified Business Energy Professional).

  • Experience using CRM systems (such as Salesforce) and sales automation tools.

  • Strategic thinking abilities, with experience conducting market analysis and competitive assessments.

  • Established network in the energy sector and relevant trade associations.

Travel Requirements

  • Travel up to 20-80%, as needed, for client engagement and business development.
