About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Decarbonization Lead to join our team in Singapore. This role is pivotal in driving our commitment to achieving net-zero emissions and leading the decarbonization efforts within the shipping industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, engineering, or a related field, with a proven track record in sustainability and decarbonization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive decarbonization strategies aligned with international and regional regulations, including the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets
- Project Management: Oversee and manage decarbonization projects, ensuring timely and effective execution. This includes retrofitting existing infrastructure, integrating renewable energy sources, and adopting low-carbon technologies
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, industry partners, and clients, to promote and advance decarbonization initiatives
- Research and Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest developments in decarbonization technologies and practices. Lead research efforts to identify and implement innovative solutions for reducing emissions in the shipping sector
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and standards. Prepare and present detailed reports on decarbonization progress and outcomes to senior management and stakeholders
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a dedicated team of sustainability professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in sustainability, environmental management, or decarbonization, preferably within the maritime or shipping industry.
- Strong understanding of international and regional environmental regulations and standards.
- Proven project management skills with the ability to lead complex projects from inception to completion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and drive innovative solutions.
