Civil/Structural Superintendent

Seeking a Civil Superintendent to oversee the on-site supervision of Construction Coordinators, Forepersons, and all craft personnel (such as equipment operators, laborers, electricians, etc.). The Civil Superintendent will be responsible for coordinating labor, materials, tools, equipment, inspections, and subcontractors to ensure resources are properly aligned with the project schedule and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and assess construction documents for completeness and feasibility

  • Understand and manage contract documents

  • Ensure safety, quality, productivity, and cost control within your construction discipline

  • Collaborate with design engineers to address any discrepancies in plans and specifications

  • Contribute to the development and management of the project schedule, including three- and six-week look-ahead schedules

  • Oversee the use of tools and equipment on-site

  • Work closely with project stakeholders to ensure smooth collaboration

  • Lead pre-construction planning and project site meetings

  • Supervise project partners, craft forepersons, and teams

  • Mentor, manage, and evaluate the performance of Construction Coordinators, General Forepersons, and Forepersons

  • Handle recruitment, hiring, transfers, and terminations for craft workers as needed

  • Ensure accurate timecard reporting and task coding

  • Track work progress and productivity of craft teams

  • Lead team member training and ensure they are up to date before tasks begin

  • Conduct career development discussions with forepersons and team members

What You'll Bring

  • At least 5 years of experience supervising construction crews in grading, structural, and/or mechanical construction

  • A valid driver's license with a good motor vehicle driving record

  • Proven ability to supervise large teams

  • In-depth knowledge of tools and equipment and their limitations

  • Strong communication skills with both owners and employees

  • A solid understanding of job costing

  • Willingness to relocate to project sites for the duration of assignments

  • Potential to qualify for company contract licensing or journeyman/master electrician certification

  • Ability to read and interpret prints and contract documents

  • Knowledge of relevant federal and state codes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of construction safety requirements; OSHA 10 or 30 certification

  • Experience with utility-scale solar projects

  • Familiarity with Office 365

  • Experience using Procore, Bluebeam, Salesforce, Box, and other project management tools
