Associate Principal I
As renown Architecture and Engineering firm is seeking an Associate Principal. The individual will play a crucial role in strengthening existing client relationships while actively pursuing new opportunities. You will help drive company initiatives, shape strategic plans, and lead a high-performing team. Additionally, you will spearhead efforts to implement change and foster innovation across the organization.
In this role, you will oversee project management and team operations, leveraging your expertise in resource allocation, budgeting, and supervision. Building and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships will be a key focus. Your experience in designing mid-sized and complex projects, coupled with technical proficiency, will allow you to effectively manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
What You Bring
- A Bachelor's or advanced degree in your field from an accredited institution, along with at least 12 years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in a Project Manager role-or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Professional Licensure (RA)
- A deep understanding of architectural fundamentals and design principles.
- A strong ability to manage complexity, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality designs across diverse project types.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes, plans, and specifications, particularly as they relate to public works and large-scale projects.
- Proficiency in technical writing and verbal communication.
- Strong prioritization skills, ensuring high-quality design standards while adhering to project timelines.
Core Responsibilities
- Stay informed on emerging technologies and industry advancements, recommending relevant changes to enhance organizational efficiency.
- Engage with colleagues and National Practice Leaders to foster a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
- Implement tracking and measurement tools to assess business health and performance.
- Lead teams by providing direction, removing obstacles, and ensuring smooth execution of projects.
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, and all aspects of concurrent design and construction projects.
- Conduct quality assurance and control, ensuring accuracy in methodologies, calculations, and project outcomes.
- Lead client vision sessions, contributing to the development of project scopes and objectives.
- Advocate for sustainable design solutions and best practices.
- Manage internal financial processes, including billing, invoicing, and resource allocation.
- Ensure proper allocation of resources to maintain a high-quality client experience.
Leadership & Team Development
- Foster the growth of team members through mentorship, regular feedback, and career development planning.
- Conduct annual career conversations and ongoing check-ins to support team members' professional growth.
- Develop future leaders within the organization by training successors.
- Inspire and lead internal and external stakeholders in strategic planning and organizational growth.
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization.
Business Development & Client Relations
- Build and nurture external client relationships, overseeing business development, marketing, contract development, design production, and construction administration as needed.
- Actively develop new client partnerships while enhancing existing ones.
- Drive marketing efforts within your practice area, including networking, conference participation, market research, and business development strategies.
- Lead efforts to generate revenue and expand the project pipeline.
