Company Safety Manager
This client is a mid-sized mechanical contractor specializing in federal and heavy industrial projects. They are committed to delivering high-quality services while maintaining the highest safety standards. They are seeking a dedicated and experienced Group Safety Management Lead to join their team and ensure the safety and well-being of their workforce.
Position Overview: As the Group Safety Management Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing and implementing safety protocols across all federal and heavy industrial projects. You will lead a team of 5 internal safety professionals, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and fostering a culture of safety within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs and policies.
- Lead and mentor a team of 5 safety professionals, providing guidance and support.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Investigate and report on incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and develop corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to integrate safety into all project phases.
- Provide safety training and education to employees at all levels.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes to ensure continuous improvement in safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in safety management, preferably in federal or heavy industrial projects.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing a team.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CIH) is preferred.
