About the Role
As a Lead Electrical Engineer, you will:
Act as the technical lead on complex data center projects, including design-only, design-build, and construction-only engagements.
Deliver specialized expertise on redundancy, resiliency, and reliability for hyperscale, edge, and colocation data center facilities.
Develop and oversee electrical system designs, construction documents, and client specifications.
Coordinate across disciplines and with external utilities to ensure optimal technical solutions.
Mentor junior engineers and participate in the development of technical standards and best practices.
Engage with clients directly to understand key drivers and provide value-driven solutions.
Support business development efforts through scoping, proposal development, and site evaluations.
Preferred Background
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) License strongly preferred.
Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience, with a strong focus on data center facility design.
Strong proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360, and familiarity with Navisworks.
Understanding of tiered data center systems (Uptime Institute standards preferred).
Ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, schedules, and technical teams simultaneously.
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to travel occasionally to client sites across North America.
Responsibilities
Lead multidisciplinary teams in the delivery of critical electrical design packages.
Ensure adherence to quality standards, code compliance, and client expectations.
Drive innovation in design methods, engineering standards, and technical deliverables.
Actively participate in project management tasks, including staffing, scheduling, and budgeting.
Foster collaboration across design and construction teams to ensure project success.
