What We Are Looking For:

An eager electrical engineer to work in a relationship-driven engineering consulting firm. You will be preparing distribution utility system studies and provide operations support to our utility clients. Projects may include the preparation of system planning studies, design of protection and sectionalizing schemes, distributed energy resource (DER) system impact studies, investigation of power quality disturbances, and daily operations support and guidance. Work is generally performed for electric cooperatives and in accordance with RUS, IEEE, and NESC standards, though support for all other departments and clients may be occasionally required. Must be passionate about supporting clients and the communities they serve to advance society for the good of all, see every complex project as a chance to make a mark on the future and provide clear, balanced guidance needed for long-term success.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • With the support and guidance of colleagues, perform utility studies, including, but not limited to, long-range plans, construction work plans, distributed energy resource system impact studies, protection/sectionalizing, arc flash, power factor correction, and system reliability.
  • Perform electrical system modeling analysis utilizing engineering analysis software.
  • Provide ESRI support for power delivery design projects, including project maps, schematic drawings, project layout drawings, etc.
  • Assist with completing the environmental review process for electrical utility projects.
  • Provide day-to-day utility operations support to clients.
  • Collaborate internally with colleagues on technical subjects.
  • Interact with clients and develop client relationships.

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

  • Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (BSEE).
  • Minimum of four years of experience

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite Products.
  • Experience with load flow and short circuit software tools (e.g., Milsoft, CYME, NISC DEW, SKM, etc.) is desired.
  • Experience with electric utilities or consulting for electric utilities is desired.
